Good day patrons of Long Shots:
We are attempting to keep all of you informed as to our slow but steady progression with the maintenance and upkeep of the lanes. Below you will find those accomplishments as well as some setbacks as we learn and work through the items that cause issues. Please stay patient and keep in mind in a bowling alley you are hurling a round object hard into many other objects. This is abusive in any scenario so unfortunately some unforeseen breaks will occur. We will do our best to monitor and stay ahead of the curve the best we can.
Current fixes from the previous week:
1. Clutch was rebuilt on lane 8, this had a bad worm gear similar to lane 5 and was replaced and rebuilt. This will help the pin jam ups coming from the distributor.
2. Lane 11 had the clutch rebuilt, nothing major was recognized for the missed pin locations but the plastic piece in the clutch was dirty so it was cleaned and put back together.
3. All lanes have the proper rubber grommets in place on the distributor arms. This helps keep the pins moving smoothly off the distributor and into their spots cleanly.
4. 11 had a pit drive shaft replaced. The current one broke the end of the shaft off that controls the red carpet that moves the pins and balls out of the pit.
5. Lane 4 had a broken #2 pin holder and was replaced with a new one.
6. Lane 5 had major issues with dropping pins 4 and 5. This has been adjusted. We may still have some minor adjustments to ensure no pins fall during pin sets.
7. Recognized the distributor was missing a nylon sleeve under the roller on lane 4. This was replaced. This caused the pins to jam and not fill each individual pin pocket.
Ongoing challenges we recognize and will work towards:
1. Pin fingers will all be reviewed and tightened this week, this will help minimize the pins not being picked up after the first ball. We will look to make this a monthly review to ensure no more pins being dropped from this issue
2. We will get an electrician to correct the wiring on lane 5 motor. This has a tendency to rattle loose and shut the lane down causing issues.
4. Will review and look for why we are having numerous balls getting stuck behind pins and not returning. This will not be a quick fix, but we do recognize it and will try to work through it and correct what we can.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
